Everybody's talking about the Bill of Rights!

Most pet owners are not aware that there are over 200 anti-pet law bills nationwide in the process of being pushed through. Pet owners for the most part don’t even realize what Animal Rights laws are up for public vote and many hold a belief that it can’t effect them as an established pet owner.

All of this is far from the truth and pet owners need to start conducting a voice to be heard and becoming aware of the deceptive advertising that is actually hurting pet owners in keeping the right to choose how their own pet is cared for, what breed you can own, and many other personal choices in pet ownership.

The Humane Society associates itself with a plethora of “animal rights friends” who consistently advertise on TV, by direct mail, online among other organized efforts to raise money for the cause. Most would be surprised to find that large sums of money go to organizations like HSUS which in turn uses it to for lobbyist in legislature, marketing deception to draft laws which are against animal owners!

The Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) represents the national pet industry and is on the move, though late in the game, to make pet owners aware of the necessity to join the campaign effort against animal right activists who are pushing anti-pet laws and extreme effort they are making to pass anti-pet laws.

If your are a pet owner and love the right to have your pet be part of your family, you should do some due diligence and educate yourself on what is going out there beyond your local dog park. The DogPlace.org has some very interesting information. And though as the author of this article I may not agree with all of it, there are important issues every pet owner should know about.

Check out the National Pet Owners Bill of Rights and sign it TODAY. Its been very easy to sit back and take no action and hope that our country allows us to continue to be free. Realize that the lulling of the security is going away under our own watch if you we continue to sit back and take no action.

Now go out and have some fun with your pet today. Be responsible and get some professional training if you need help in that area, pick up pet waste always, and be the voice of your community in maintaining the right to your own pet.
